Skin Resurfacing

Fraxel® re:store DUAL laser system is a non-invasive fractional skin resurfacing treatment for the face, neck, décolleté and other parts of the body. The rejuvenating Fraxel DUAL laser treatment corrects mild to moderate imperfections such as wrinkles, fine lines, pigmented lesions (sun or age spots), uneven pigmentation (including melasma), acne scars, surgical scars and actinic keratoses.

Fraxel Dual Technology

A fractional approach to skin resurfacing means that only a ‘fraction’ or part of the overall treatment area is targeted at a time. The Fraxel re:store DUAL laser creates thousands of microscopic laser heat columns deep into the dermis of the skin leaving the surrounding tissue completely untouched.

This action activates the body’s natural healing mechanisms prompting it to develop new, healthier tissue to replace the damaged cells. Because the surface layer of skin is not affected, there is little or no downtime associated with this procedure.

Fraxel Dual Restores More

Pacific Dermaesthetics utilizes the newest version of the technology in Vancouver, Fraxel re:store DUAL. It boasts two different laser wave lengths (1550 nm and 1927 nm) and for separate treatment modes: one specifically treats concerns that are deeper in the skin layers such as wrinkles or scarring, while the second effectively targets more superficial issues such as sun spots, age spots and tone and texture. The results are remarkable.

Fraxel DUAL is very safe, with multiple clinical studies to support its utility.

What to Expect

A topical anesthesia is applied before the procedure to reduce any discomfort. After the procedure your skin will look like it was sunburnt, with slight swelling and redness. This will diminish from one hour to two days, depending on your skin type and the level of Fraxel treatment you have received.

Over the next week your skin will bronze and then exfoliate (flake or peel). A good moisturizer can be used to reduce the appearance of this dry skin. A sunscreen of at least SPF 30 must be worn to protect the skin immediately after treatment and for at least three months afterwards.

Results with the Fraxel re:store DUAL laser are often visible within a week with many patients returning to their regular routine within a few days. Over the next few months, the skin will continue to produce new collagen, healing from the inside out. The effect is a much healthier, rested and younger appearance.

Some patients may require multiple sessions for best results, depending on the desired outcome.  Additional sessions are generally spaced four to six weeks apart.
