New Rosacea Medication Available

By Pacific Derm on May 6 2013

Rosacea sufferers may be interested to know that a new oral medication is available in Canada called Apprilon. As the only once-a-day oral treatment for papular pustular rosacea, it is a modified release doxycycline 40 mg capsule that has good efficacy and very low side effects. It acts as an anti-inflammatory medication and not an antibiotic, thus minimizing the risk of antibiotic resistance.

While new to Canada, Apprilon has been available in the US for six years. To learn more abut Apprilon and whether it is suitable for you, please make an appointment with Dr. Rivers or Dr. Ulmer.
