With the current stretch of cold weather in Vancouver throwing all sorts of challenges our way, News 1130 turned to Dr. Jason Rivers to discuss how the freezing temperatures affect our skin and things we can do to protect it.
Dr. Rivers notes the impact of the cold on the skin: “It dries out the skin. The natural moisturizers that we have in the skin can also be reduced so people can start developing flaky skin, itchy skin, red irritated skin.”
He continues with recommendations on showering/bathing, proper moisturizing, and the benefits of using a humidifier.
