New Topical Treatment for Rosacea

By Pacific Derm on May 27 2015

Rosacea sufferers should know that there’s a new rosacea drug, topical ivermectin, that has been recently approved by Health Canada.

This antibiotic-free, anti-parasitic topical prescription treats the inflammatory lesions (bumps and pimples) of rosacea. In Canada this treatment will be marketed under the trade name of Rosiver®.

April was Rosacea Awareness Month in North America, and to mark the event, Dr. Ulmer gave a free talk on living with rosacea. Both of our dermatologists are members of the Acne and Rosacea Society of Canada: Dr. Rivers as President, and Dr. Ulmer as a Medical Committee member.

For more information on this skin condition, or to find out if topical ivermectin for rosacea is suited to your needs, please see your dermatologist.
